Little Matchstick Factory and Suzanna Rosenthal Productions bring the internationally acclaimed solo play The Other Mozart to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for the first time. Running from 30 July to 25 August (excluding 12 August) at Assembly George Square Studios (Studio Two), this haunting and visually stunning production tells the forgotten story of Maria Anna “Nannerl” Mozart—sister of Wolfgang Amadeus and a musical prodigy in her own right.

Written and originally performed by Sylvia Milo, and now also featuring Daniela Galli in alternating performances, The Other Mozart is based on the Mozart family’s preserved letters. It paints a vivid portrait of a woman whose extraordinary talent was stifled by the rigid gender norms of her time. Touring Europe as a child alongside her brother, Nannerl’s name once appeared above his on concert bills—until societal expectations forced her into silence.
