This June, the Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells transforms into a vibrant arena for FRAY, a pioneering hip hop dance theatre production. Presented by CandyBomber Productions and the visionary Jonzi D, FRAY promises an immersive experience blending dance, spoken word, and cutting-edge AI technology.

Scheduled for a limited run on the 21st and 22nd of June, FRAY explores the complex dynamics between two brothers, Tullio and Ziya, portrayed by Kieran Lai and Kailon Chéry respectively. As Ziya delves into a virtual game world, the brothers’ bond is tested, making audiences ponder the essence of human connections.

The creative powerhouse behind FRAY includes Kate Duhamel, the writer, executive producer, and director from Candy Bomber Productions, and Jonzi D, the artistic director known for his groundbreaking work in hip hop dance. The production also features music supervision by Micall Parknsn and choreography by Ola Papiór, enhancing the narrative with a dynamic auditory and physical landscape.

Supporting the lead duo is a talented ensemble including Emma Houston, Sean Edwards, Fi Silverthorn, Kelsey Miller, George Fairbrother, and Jane Sekonya-John. Their performances weave together a tapestry of music, dance, and visual art, capturing the poignant struggles and triumphs of the characters.

Adding to the multi-platform nature of FRAY, a playable video game will be released on STEAM on June 15th, allowing fans to engage with the story in an interactive format.
