Animaniacs in Concert is coming to Greenwich Theatre, bringing the Emmy-winning composer Randy Rogel and the iconic music of the beloved animated series to the stage. Fans can expect a “zany, animany and totally insaney” evening, featuring world-famous songs performed live alongside original projected animation.

Randy Rogel, whose award-winning work defined much of Animaniacs’ musical legacy, will be joined by voice legend Rob Paulsen for a multigenerational celebration of wit and nostalgia. This unique event promises to delight both long-time fans and newcomers with its blend of sharp humor, timeless melodies, and behind-the-scenes stories.

Animaniacs in Concert runs at Greenwich Theatre on 25th May. Tickets are available here.

You’re bringing  Animaniacs in Concert to Greenwich Theatre-what can you tell us about the show Randy?

Animaniacs in Concert is a terrific show with fabulous music, vibrant animation, non-stop hilarity and wonderful performances by the original actor who voiced so many of the iconic cartoon characters from your childhood, and the composer of those great songs from the hit series Animaniacs.  It’s two hours of non-stop fun.

As the Emmy-winning composer behind many of Animaniacs’ most beloved songs, how does it feel to bring this music to a live audience?

Hearing the audience’s riotous laughter as we perform these songs and tell them the stories behind them is pure joy.  We also play songs for them that were cut from the original show by the censors and we sing original lyrics to several songs that we weren’t allowed to use.   It puts the audience inside the creative process of the show and it’s a real crowd pleaser.

Animaniacs is known for its clever writing and musical parodies-can you share some insight into your creative process when crafting these iconic tunes?

This is what the show is all about.   The audience gets to hear how all these fun songs were created by the guy who created them, and then hear them sung live by the original voice actor who performed them.  It’s mind blowing fun for both us and the audience.

The show appeals to both adults and children. What do you think makes Animaniacs resonate with audiences across generations?

It’s true, you don’t need to know Animaniacs in order to the enjoy this show and you don’t need to be a kid.   Most of our audiences are adults.  This show appeals to all ages because it’s smart, relevant, and highly entertaining.   The kids love the animation and the parents love the cheekiness.

You’ve worked on a range of acclaimed animated series and films. How has your experience with Animaniacs influenced your career and approach to songwriting?

Animaniacs was ground breaking in that it was written up to kids rather than condescending or infantilizing; that’s why it appeals to both kids and adults.  I’ve since gone on to write in the same style for Disney, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros and so many other studios.  I even have an Off-Broadway show heading to production with music written in the same clever style as Animaniacs.

What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to see Animaniacs in Concert?

This is a fantastic show that audiences love.  It never fails to please – it’s a joyous two hours of music, animation, fun and laughter.
