Lazarus Theatre Company have announced that Luke Ward-Wilkinson will play the role of King Edward II in Marlowe’s epic gay play, Edward II. His previous stage credits include; Ralph, Lord of the Flies, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Timothy Sheader and Liam Steel. Cupid, Sleeping Beauty, Royal Opera House.
“I am extremely humbled and excited to have the opportunity to portray one of England’s most reviled Kings in one of the most iconic plays ever written. I cannot wait to get stuck into the text and discover this incredible play with the company!” Luke Ward-Wilkinson on the announcement of his casting.
Returning to the company Lakesha Cammock plays the role of Queen Isabella and making his Lazarus and professional debut Bradley Frith plays the role of Gaveston. Jamie O’Neill also returns to the company as Mortimer. Alex Zur and John Slade take on the roles of Kent and Warwick respectively.

Marlowe’s gay epic comes to the stage in a fresh, bold and stripped back ensemble production marking 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in England and Wales.
