Live Reading of The Shape of Things

Tony Award winner Lena Hall, Tim Realbuto, Katie Rose Clarke, Jonah Platt and John St. Croix have recorded a live reading of Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things to raise money for The Actors Fund.

The Shape of Things originally premiered at London’s Almeida Theatre in 2001 starring Paul Rudd, it was later made in to a film, with the original cast reprising their roles.

Set in a small university town in the American Midwest, it centres on the lives of four young students who become emotionally and romantically involved with each other.  It was revived at The Arcola Theatre in 2013.

In this charity reading, Alison Tanney directs Lena Hall as Evelyn and Tim Realbuto as Adam, an unlikely couple who meet in an art gallery and begin a love affair.  Katie Rose Clarke and Jonah Platt star as Jenny and Phillip respectively, while John St. Croix reads stage directions.

The reading was followed by a Q&A with the cast and playwright.  The recording will be available on YouTube for a limited time here.
