Operation Mincemeat, the 2024 Best New Musical Olivier Award-winning show, is set to extend its West End run for the 14th time, adding 24 more weeks at the Fortune Theatre. This extension will see the production running through to 15th November 2025, marking its third sold-out year in London.

The show is currently running simultaneously in New York and London. Its first sold-out Broadway preview on 15th February received a 5-minute standing ovation. The original cast was greeted by 300 loyal fans, known as the ‘Mincefluencers’, who had flown from London to New York. Due to popular demand, the Broadway run has been extended by 4 weeks, now running through 13th July.

West End Extension tickets go on general sale on Friday 21st March at 10am from the Official Box Office. Tickets via the ballot are available on Thursday 20th March at 2pm. Broadway tickets and more information can be found here.

Following the success of the Monday ballot, it has now expanded to include Tuesday and Saturday shows. Monday ticket prices remain frozen at £39.50, and the popular fortnightly £25 ticket lottery continues. The first ballot draw for the new booking period from 7th June to 15th November will take place on Thursday 20th March at 2pm.

Operation Mincemeat began as a small production at the London Fringe New Diorama Theatre in 2019. It quickly gained a devoted following, leading to sold-out runs at Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios. The show premiered in the West End on 9th May 2023 at the Fortune Theatre, where it won the Olivier and WhatsOnstage Awards for Best New Musical and has become the best-reviewed show in West End history.

The musical was created by a quartet of young British creatives after years of performing sketch shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. This journey echoes that of Beyond the Fringe, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1960 before moving to the Fortune Theatre and later to the Golden in 1962.

In the West End, the cast includes Holly Sumpton, Seán Carey, Chlöe Hart, Christian Andrews, George Jennings, Jonty Peach, and Geri Allen, joined by new members Charlotte Hanna-Williams and Maddie Jackson-Smith.

Set in 1943, Operation Mincemeat tells the fast-paced, hilarious, and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that helped win World War II. The production is directed by 2023 Olivier Award nominee Robert Hastie, with choreography by Olivier Award nominee Jenny Arnold. The creative team also includes Ben Stones as Set and Costume Designer, Mark Henderson as Lighting Designer, Mike Walker as Sound Designer, Steve Sidwell as Orchestrator and Vocal Arranger, and Joe Bunker as Musical Director.

Operation Mincemeat has won numerous awards, including the 2024 Best New Musical and Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical Olivier Awards. It has also received the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical and the West End Wilma Awards for Best West End Show, Rising Star, and Best Understudy.
