Ealing’s Pantomime Returns on 8th December, with a new adaptation by award-winning playwright James Rushbrooke: King Arthur and the Twelfth Knight.
For the first time in three years, Ealing’s highly celebrated annual Pantomime will go up in December. This emblem of the Christmas period was previously called off in 2020 and pushed back in 2021, due to COVID set-backs. Tickets are now on sale, starting at just £7.
This year The Questors Theatre will stage a new adaptation of King Arthur, combining the famous legend with that of Shakespeare’s iconic comedy, Twelfth Night (but without any of the iambic pentameter).
The result is King Arthur and the Twelfth Knight, set in Drayton Court. The story explores the journey of Esme, a headstrong young woman determined to become the Twelfth Knight of King Arthur’s round table. So, she hatches a clever plan to swap identities with happy-go-lucky kitchen boy Ivor Sideways.
With the first Saturday night already sold out, this production promises to be one of the most exciting evenings in the Christmas calendar. The Questors strongly advise booking your tickets early, to avoid missing out.
A word from The Questors Artistic Director, Alex Marker said: “After two years of uncertainty, it feels momentous to be once again staging our beloved pantomime over Christmas. This year we will be staging a new script by Papatango award-winning playwright James Rushbrooke, so this promises to be a memorable production. Oh yes, it does!”
King Arthur and the Twelfth Knight runs from 8 – 31 December. See The Questors website for times. There will be 2 socially distanced performances, on Thursday 15th and Sunday 18th December.
