Adapted from the beloved 2004 romantic comedy, 50 First Dates: The Musical will make its world premiere at The Other Palace this September.

London audiences will be the first to experience this heartwarming and hilarious new musical, featuring original songs and a story that celebrates love, resilience, and second chances.

Taking on the iconic roles made famous by Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are Georgina Castle (Mean Girls) as Lucy Whitmore, an artist with short-term memory loss, and Josh St. Clair (Ghost) as Henry Roth, the commitment-phobe who falls for her.

Multi-Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw leads the production. He shared, “50 First Dates is one of the most beloved romantic comedies of all time, and has also been one of my favorites ever since I first saw it. After watching it about 50 times as my ‘go to’ movie on airplane flights, I realized it would really sing well and could be very special, so I began to start the ball rolling to turn it into a new stage musical.

“I’m so excited to direct and choreograph the world premiere of this new, funny and romantic show. I’m also thrilled to reunite with Georgina Castle after her phenomenal turn as Regina George in my production of Mean Girls, and to collaborate for the first time with the immensely talented Josh St. Clair. I can’t wait for London audiences to fall in love—again and again and again—when we open this September.”

The story follows Henry, a notorious bachelor, who meets Lucy, an art teacher with no short-term memory. Each day, she forgets him—and each day, he finds a new way to win her heart.

With infectious original songs and laugh-out-loud moments, 50 First Dates: The Musical promises to be an unforgettable date night.

The musical is based on the Columbia Pictures film with a screenplay by George Wing. Book, music, and lyrics are by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen (The Other Josh Cohen).

The creative team includes set and costume design by Fly Davis, lighting design by Aideen Malone, video design by George Reeve, sound design by Adam Fisher, and hair and makeup design by Cynthia De La Rosa.

Orchestrations and arrangements are by Matthew Jackson, with musical supervision and direction by Richard Beadle. Casting is by Natalie Gallacher for Natalie Gallacher and Pippa Ailion Casting.

The production is presented by ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live, and Gavin Kalin Productions.

50 First Dates: The Musical is a hilarious and heartwarming date night… that you’ll never forget.
