Stage and screen favourite Brian Conley will take on the iconic role of Doctor Emmett Brown in Back to the Future The Musical at London’s Adelphi Theatre.

Conley joins the production from Wednesday 13 August 2025 for a strictly limited 12-week run, concluding on Monday 3 November 2025.

“Great Scott! I’m absolutely thrilled to be stepping into the DeLorean as Doc Brown – it’s a gift of a part in such an iconic musical,” said Brian Conley. “It’s pure, high-voltage fun, and I can’t wait to bring my own spark to the mad genius!”

Brian Conley’s extensive West End credits include 9 to 5 The Musical, Hairspray, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jolson (for which he received an Olivier nomination), and Me and My Girl. He has also starred in touring productions such as Barnum and Oliver!.

On television, Conley is known for The Brian Conley Show, The Grimleys, and most recently as Tom ‘Rocky’ Cotton in EastEnders.

Cory English, who currently plays Doc Brown, will return to the role from Wednesday 5 November 2025.

The current cast also features Caden Brauch as Marty McFly, Sarah Goggin as Lorraine Baines, Orlando Gibbs as George McFly, and Talia Palamathanan as Jennifer Parker, among others.

Now in its fourth year in London, Back to the Future The Musical continues to thrill audiences, having opened at the Adelphi Theatre in September 2021.

The musical celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original 1985 film and has enjoyed international success with productions on Broadway, in Japan, Germany, and on tour across North America.

The show features original music by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, alongside classic hits from the film such as “The Power of Love” and “Johnny B. Goode”.

Directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando, the production boasts a multi-award-winning creative team and has been seen by over 1.6 million people in the UK alone.
