The producers of Songs From Far Away (22 Feb – 11 Mar 2023) have today announced the creative team for the highly anticipated show next spring.

Having announced Kirk Jameson as director last month the team has now revealed Ingrid Hu as set and costume designer, Jane Lalljee as lighting designer,  Julian Starr as sound designer and Paul Schofield as musical supervisor and arranger.

Will Young: “I think it’s really exciting. The last time I was in theatre in straight acting was in Manchester around fourteen years ago. When I first read the script the fact that it was a one-man show was really interesting – it’s definitely going to challenge me.”

Speaking about the new production in Manchester, Song from Far Away co-writer Simon Stephens said: “It means a f****** mountain to see our play get a second life. The idea of an artist who has reached as many people as Will Young has reached, singing our song and telling our story is immensely moving.

“Manchester is a city that we have loved for decades for different reasons and from different places. We can’t wait to see our Song from Far Away in this city of music.”
