Immersive theatre producers DARKFIELD are returning to Lincoln with their latest experience ARCADE, presented as part of Frequency Festival this February.

The production will run at The Lawn, Lincoln from Friday 13 to Sunday 22 February 2026, marking DARKFIELD’s first visit to the city in two years.

DARKFIELD were last in Lincoln in 2024 with EULOGY, which played to significant audience interest and critical acclaim.

Known for producing pioneering immersive theatre using 360 degree binaural sound, complete darkness and sensory effects, DARKFIELD will once again install one of their trademark shipping containers for the experience.

Using the nostalgic aesthetic of 1980s video games, ARCADE places audiences inside an interactive narrative exploring the relationship between players and avatars.

Over 30 minutes, participants guide their avatar through a world shaped by endless war, where choices determine outcomes and no two journeys through the experience are the same.

The production premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024, where it sold out and received widespread critical acclaim.

Its success continued through 2025 with sold-out runs at BFI London Film Festival, Aviva Studios in Manchester, Shoreditch Town Hall and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

DARKFIELD said: “We had a great time presenting EULOGY in Lincoln in 2024, so we are delighted to be returning with our newest show, ARCADE – our most ambitious show to date. We can’t wait for audiences across the city to experience it and we hope they enjoy exploring the world they are immersed in, exploring the many pathways in the show, and hopefully returning to discover new paths!”

ARCADE will perform multiple times daily at The Lawn as part of Frequency Festival.

The production has an age restriction of 16+ and includes content warnings for themes of violence, warfare and sensory effects including complete darkness.
