Edinburgh Preview: NewsRevue at Underbelly (Udderbelly)

In a world where politics dominates the headlines, Guinness World Record-holder NewsRevue returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with its signature blend of razor-sharp satire and musical parody. Running from 31 July to 24 August at Assembly Ballroom, this fast-paced sketch show delivers 100% new material each year, tackling current events with biting wit and musical flair.

A staple of the Fringe and a year-round hit at London’s Canal Café Theatre, NewsRevue has helped launch the careers of comedy greats such as Bill Bailey, Bridget Christie, and Sara Pascoe. This year’s edition promises fresh comedic takes on the post-election political landscape, with topics ranging from Trump’s tariffs and the Fighting Farmers to the weekly Westminster face-off: Keir and Kemi: Dull and Duller.

Directed by Jonny Brace and featuring musical direction by Fergus Carver (NOTFLIX), the show stars Bryn Cash, Maddie Maguire, Lauren Thomas, and Leo Clasen. With its unique treatment of current affairs and a reputation as a springboard for rising talent, NewsRevue remains a must-see for fans of topical humour.
