Presented as part of the Hong Kong Soul Showcase, Rock Hard – A Theatrical A Cappella Adventure is a wordless musical journey through Hong Kong’s past, present, and future. Running at theSpaceTriplex (Big) from 11 – 23 August (not 14 & 17), this 55-minute production from Yat Po Singers blends a cappella vocals, movement, and theatrical storytelling in a unique and moving performance.

A group of scouts embarks on a hiking trip, their voices echoing through time as they reflect on the city’s myths, memories, and dreams. With music composed by Cheuk-yin Ng and performed by six singers and a clarinettist, the show uses only vocal sounds—no lyrics—to evoke emotion and narrative. The result is a meditative, innovative experience that merges tradition with contemporary performance.

Yat Po Singers, Hong Kong’s first professional a cappella choral theatre company, is known for its original works that fuse music and theatre. Their past productions have earned multiple Hong Kong Drama Awards and recognition for arts education and promotion.
