From a childhood in the Philippines to a doctorate in piano performance, Jeremy Rafal’s journey is as remarkable as it is moving. In his solo show The Boy From Bantay, Rafal shares how a love of cartoons—especially Bugs Bunny—sparked a lifelong passion for music that led him to the world’s top conservatories and concert halls.

Premiering at theSpace @ Surgeons’ Hall this August, The Boy From Bantay blends storytelling, music, and nostalgia to explore Rafal’s life, including the tragic loss of his brother at age 10. With humour and heart, he introduces audiences to the colourful characters who shaped his path—from family and teachers to the animated icons of his youth.

Following acclaim at the New York Fringe, where Playbill named it one of six unmissable solo shows, this autobiographical performance promises a heartfelt and entertaining hour of music, memory, and resilience.
