Confessional stories and unspoken truths take centre stage in Whisper Walk, a unique documentary-style walking tour from Dutch Kills Theater Company and Ambulatory World. Running from 2 – 25 August, this UK premiere invites audiences to explore Edinburgh every hour from 10:00 to 23:00, starting at Assembly George Square Studios.

Created by Asa Wember and written by Alexandra Silber, Whisper Walk guides participants through the city with headphones and a smartphone, as whispered personal memories unfold in real time. Inspired by the Japanese “wind phone” and rooted in the belief that places hold memories, the experience transforms ordinary locations into emotional landmarks. At the end of the walk, participants are invited to contribute their own memory to the growing Whisper Museum.

Part of Dutch Kills’ AFOOT series, Whisper Walk builds on the company’s history of immersive storytelling, including the acclaimed Temping and KlaxAlterian Sequester. With its blend of radio drama, podcast intimacy, and site-specific theatre, this production offers a deeply personal and reflective Fringe experience.
