Five Star Review from Theatre WeeklyPresented by the Agency for Absurd Agency, Raiders of the Local Adventure is a walking adventure set in Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat, guided and performed by two actors.

When you join this brand-new adventure team, you’ll embark on a journey filled with the unknown and hilarious surprises, led by the professional Dr Grone (played by Andrew Agress) and his mischievous assistant Milo (played by Connor Wahrman). The adventure team’s goal is to find the hidden treasure called “Old Crap” and prevent the evil Professor Williamshire Crofley from claiming it for himself.

Raiders of the Local Adventure is an absolutely immersive experience that transforms familiar surroundings into an unknown land filled with danger and deception. At the meeting point, assistant Milo suddenly appears with odd props. Participants from different countries form a temporary adventure team, with light-hearted jokes that play on cultural quirks. The actors’ rich physical movements and humorous dialogue make it clear that caution and swift action are essential. We will climb Arthur’s Seat just as we venture deep into the mysterious Amazon rainforest. Crosswalks become terrifying cliffs, mountain caves turn into traps left by the evil doctor, and magical stone bridges emerge from the lake. The power of drama reimagines natural spaces, transforming them into a joyful playground blending virtual and reality.

During the journey, participants can choose between a more relaxed loch-side stroll or a challenging mountain climbing route, depending on their preferences and physical condition. Whether feeling the breeze by the lake or enjoying the thrill of reaching the summit, this will be a healthy and safe journey. The two teams will also exchange clues with each other, full of team spirit.

The clues prepared are very entertaining, sparking curiosity about how seemingly unrelated elements are connected. Puns, road signs, warnings and other odd clues are combined to keep participants engaged in the game. The puzzles are just the right difficulty level, suitable for all age groups.
