The outrageously hilarious show KAREN is making a triumphant return to Edinburgh Fringe 2024 after a sell-out tour in Birmingham, and highly anticipated transfer to The Other Palace in London. This must-see production centres around the internal turmoil of our Protagonist as she journeys through the treacherous waters of heartbreak, office politics and hilarity. Shattering the fourth wall as well as all professional conduct, this critically acclaimed show follows the Protagonist as she scrambles to come out on top after an unceremonious birthday break-up sees her ex dating her office nemesis: Karen.

This bold one-woman production, heralded as the modern-day Bridget Jones (A Youngish Perspective) is brought to life by Sarah Cameron-West (Anansi Boys, Amazon Prime; Walk Home, Josie Copeland). KAREN is fuelled by pent up rage, awkward encounters, and a healthy dose of sarcasm, set on breaking the polite silence between performer and audience. Directed by Evie Ayres-Townshend (Fox, Drops and Panda Pops, Omnibus Theatre; Contact, Golden Goose Theatre), KAREN invites you upon a fast-paced, emotional rollercoaster as it explores an unexpected identity crisis in a Fleabag meets The Office production.

Unable to silently hold onto the unchecked and repressed outrage that comes with betrayal, loss, and an office romance that breaks the camel’s back, KAREN sees chaos ensue as Cameron-West unleashes her feminine rage in an unashamed show of rebellion. This female Peep Show (The Nerd Party) uncovers the empowerment of owning the emotions that allow you to find peace, whilst also presenting a side-splittingly funny performance.

Writer, actor and producer Sarah Cameron-West comments, KAREN aims to take you on a comic emotional rollercoaster as our Protagonist faces her worst nightmare. In a desperate attempt to remain professional and sane, she uses humour and sarcasm to dodge her overwhelming feelings. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the only way to mend a broken heart is to face it head-on. The climax is a cathartic fireworks display stemming from her powder keg of repressed emotions as our heroine finally confronts her nemesis, her feelings and the truth.
