strong language and swearing and scene of a sexual nature.

The news never gets old and nor does NewsRevue! Impeccably delivered, NewsRevue is a Guinness World Record-breaking current affairs, parody song and sketch show. Celebrating its 45th birthday (on 18th August), this Edinburgh institution aims to shine a light in the darkness with 100% new, high-energy content.

Four incredible cast and on-stage Musical Director Fergus Carver (award-winning NOTFLIX – musical director since 2022) bring to life a round-up of the horrors and joys of the last year. Hot topics will include the Chocolate Factory scandal which rocked the world, a climate crisis spin on Barbie’s I’m Just Ken, and Donald Trump’s unique rendition of If I Were a Rich Man.

Producer Emma Taylor says, The wonderful thing about NewsRevue is that like the news itself it never gets old. This is one of the many reasons it remains so fresh. We never rest on our laurels and our greatest hits. We always follow the news cycle and aim to punch up. We are not sensationalist and have a healthy respect for humanity. There are some topics that are not remotely funny. Far from shying away from difficult topics we choose our material and our timing with the utmost sensitivity and stay true to our ethos which is to create an entertaining, fast-paced, clever revue in order to delight our audiences and help them laugh about the often grim reality of everyday life in 2024.

Director Micha Mirto follows on, NewsRevue is more important than it has ever been because we *need* satire; wars rage, humans are terrible to each other, no wonder we’re all so f**king depressed. NewsRevue offers a hilarious musical lens through which we can begin to process the heinous nonsense of current affairs. This year’s show will be bitingly funny; a tonic for our times and I can’t wait.

Awarded with London Pub Theatre’s 2022 Commendation for Outstanding Achievement, NewsRevue is acknowledged as a highly successful springboard for the incredible talents involved, many of whom started their careers on the show before scaling great comedy heights.
