This August, Owen Roberts (actor, comedian and one-third of acclaimed sketch group BEASTS), brings his highly anticipated solo debut to the Pleasance Courtyard at 4:45pm, 1st – 27th August (except 13th).
After a severe case of writer’s block, Owen has thrown caution to the wind and decided to let a six year old child write his show for him. Kids are funny, right? What could possibly go wrong? Well, it turns out she can’t spell, she can’t focus for more than three minutes and her ideas are wildly unrealistic to say the least.
From a cross dressing police officer’s adventures in Africa, to a man eating foot that lives under the sea, this is a show is about how children think and how annoying they are to work with. Join Owen as he battles his way through the ridiculous sketches and outlandish scenarios created by handing control of his career over to a very young person with absolutely no relevant experience.
Owen Roberts has recently appeared in Wannabe (BBC3), Drunk History (Comedy Central), and Witless (BBC3).
Owen is also a member of critically acclaimed sketch group BEASTS who return to the Pleasance Queen Dome for 4 nights only this summer with Best of BEASTS (16th-19th August). BEASTS have made numerous appearances on BBC Radio 4’s Sketchorama, made the Amused Moose Comedy Award’s Top Ten 2014 and their sell out shows were among the top reviewed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 and 2015.
Owen Roberts’ I Let a Six Year Old Write My Show is directed by James McNicholas (BEASTS).
