Based on a wild and remarkable true story, Reservoir Knobs follows the events of a supermarket robbery gone wrong, as four hapless small-town criminals gather in a warehouse to confront a graphic injury, each other, and the choices that led them down the path of petty, poor-paying, crime.

A spoonful of Quentin Tarantino and a pinch of Irvine Welsh spin this fast-paced, outrageously fun original heist comedy into a Fringe experience you won’t want to miss.

Starring Festival newcomers Alistair Maxwell, Chris McCall, Ben Ramsay & Blair Young bringing to life a razor-sharp script that puts a darkly comic twist on a cinematic classic, Reservoir Knobs is unlike anything else you’ll see at the Fringe this year.

With an emphasis on snappy dialogue, hilarious set-pieces and an ever-boiling plot that rises into a surprising climax, this side-splitting, poignant comedy about the underlying humanity behind everyday small-town crime is sure to please fans of comedy and true crime everywhere.

Driven by new writing and the goal of bringing unique working-class Scottish stories to the stage, Punch Monkey Theatre was formed in 2021 with Reservoir Knobs acting as their explosive Fringe debut. With the strong belief that theatre should be a good time for all and that the best way to touch an audience is by providing constant laughter wrapped in a thoughtful & clever show, Punch Monkey’s first Edinburgh Festival Fringe comedy is a riotous debut that will stay with you long after the curtain closes.
