The enormous Assembly Rooms Main Hall hosts the 360 ALLSTARS and believe me, they need a room that big to accommodate the sheer energy and power that this show outputs.
It is high energy from the off, with rap and beatboxing to get the crowd bouncing and lay the ground for what’s to come. It has the feel of superhero movie and it really is ALLSTARS Assemble as we are introduced to the troupe by way of a personalised rap, with achievements, stats and awards playing on the big screen.
For an hour we are utterly wowed by the flips, rolls, kicks, musical licks, spins, challenge wins and general physical prowess that would make most of us put a rib out just by watching. The performers consist of multi-award winning, international stars who specialise in breakdancing, BMX tricks, basketball, drumming and the Cyr Wheel. Those just being their first discipline, as it becomes apparent through some of the more choreographed sections that all of them are multi-talented.
The standouts of the show are world beatboxing champion Ball-Zee who gives us a stunning display of vocal dexterity, creating a myriad of sound that you wouldn’t think possible for the human voice to make. The other being Cyr Wheel performer, Josh Curtis who brought some beautiful moments of grace and serenity into the otherwise breakneck speed show.
I wish there had been a female presence in the team for my daughter to see that women can also do these amazing things too, however it’s a small quibble as there is no doubt that these guys are all there on merit, top of their game and brilliantly entertaining. 360 ALLSTARS is a blistering explosion of raw human power that needs to be seen to be believed.
