Award winning theatre company On The Run are back on tour in 2022 with their five-star Edinburgh Fringe show, Everything I Didn’t Say, written and performed by the company’s Artistic Director Hannah Moss.

The show blends storytelling, movement and audience participation to convey Meadow Rain’s struggle to leave her abusive partner and the impact the relationship has on her, her friendships and her family. With a sense of community and togetherness, the show seeks to change perceptions of domestic abuse and what a victim can look like.

Audiences can expect a highly entertaining and educational evening which explores the key signs of coercive control using gentle audience interaction and comedy.

Hannah Moss, writer and performer, says: “I am thrilled to be working on Everything I Didn’t Say again, after a number of COVID-related delays. Coming back to the show with fresh eyes has allowed us to deepen our understanding of the subject matter, coercive control, and enrich the show’s content. We’ve developed the storyline and honed in on the theme of community: how can our friends and family support those of us in abusive relationships.”

Anna Marshall, Director of the show and recent Leeds Playhouse Trainee Director, says: “It has been exciting to delve back into this show with a richer understanding of coercive control. It’s been prominent in the media and in people’s psyches due to lockdown, so we really wanted to create a show that does victims justice. We’re focusing on Meadow trying to reconnect with her friend after going through a coercive relationship and how that can really spark hope for people. We’ve created interactive opportunities where the audience can choose how they wish to respond in certain situations and see the reaction that their action has. There are lots of games and exciting moments of interaction and hopefully by the end it’ll feel like you’ve saved your best friend.”
