Festive Concerts at Southbank Centre

For Christmas 2023, AEG Artistic Presents announce a series of festive concerts at London’s Southbank Centre. Celebrating the worlds of classical and contemporary music and film, Festive Concerts at the Southbank Centre is the perfect way to ring in the beginning of the festive season this December. Tickets go on general sale on Friday 26 May via AEGpresents.co.uk, with an exclusive pre-sale for Southbank Centre members on Wednesday 24 May, and AEG Artistic Presents customers on Thursday 25 May.

Opening with E.T. the Extra Terrestrial In Concert on Wednesday 13 December, the iconic film will be shown in HD on the big screen, while John Williams’ renowned Oscar and Grammy winning score is performed in full by the Philharmonia Orchestra, giving audiences to the chance to experience the family favourite blockbuster like never before.

Christmas In Tinseltown comes to the Southbank Centre on Thursday 14 December. An evening of best loved Christmas movie themes performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the show is guaranteed to get audience members in the Christmas spirit. Hosted by one of the UK’s most respected broadcasters and film critics, Mark Kermode, he is an expert on all things film music, and currently presents a weekly show on Scala Radio and Mark Kermode’s Secrets of Cinema for BBC Four. The concert will feature music from Christmas movie classics including It’s A Wonderful Life, Home Alone and Polar Express.

       

British Music Royalty YolanDa Brown will host Christmas Classics at the Royal Festival Hall on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December. Best known for her signature soul, reggae and jazz fusion, she will present some of the UK’s favourite festive tracks, performed by a full live orchestra. From Silent Night to Walking In A Winter Wonderland, guests will be invited to sing along to the timeless Christmas carols and contemporary classics.

With both matinee and evening performances, Christmas Classics at the Royal Festival Hall is the perfect way for families to kick start the Christmas period this December. Promising to be a lively new tradition for families to attend for Christmas’ to come, the show is a unique festive experience for children and adults alike, which will leave ticket holders excited to return year after year.

On Friday 15 and Sunday 17 December, YolanDa will be joined by the internationally renowned Philharmonia Orchestra, while the celebrated London Philharmonic Orchestra will perform on Saturday 16 December.
