Production images have been released for the West End transfer of The Royal Court Theatre’s production of Giant, the award-winning debut play from Mark Rosenblatt. Directed by Nicholas Hytner (Straight Line Crazy, La Belle Sauvage) and designed by Bob Crowley, Giant opens at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 1 May for a 14-week run.

Winner of three Olivier Awards, including Best Actor (John Lithgow), Best Supporting Actor (Elliot Levey), and Best New Play, the sold-out hit premiered at the Royal Court in September 2024. It will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre until 2 August 2025.

Olivier, Tony, and Golden Globe-winner John Lithgow (Conclave, The Crown) stars as Roald Dahl. Aya Cash (The Boys, The Franchise) makes her West End debut as US Publisher Jessie Stone. Olivier Award-winner Elliot Levey (Cold War, Patriots) reprises his role as Tom Maschler. Olivier Award-nominee Rachael Stirling (The Divine Mrs S) returns as Felicity Crosland. Completing the cast are Tessa Bonham Jones (Dune: Prophecy) as Hallie and Richard Hope (Hijack) as Wally Saunders.

“I wanted to put you bang in the picture. Appraise you of the difficulties. Because, in case you hadn’t noticed, he’s a human fucking boobytrap. And now, guess what, surprise surprise, boom!”

Inspired by real events, Giant explores with dark humour the difference between considered opinion and dangerous rhetoric, offering a complicated portrait of a fiendishly charismatic icon.
