Production images have been released for Noël Coward’s Fallen Angels, which is now in previews at the Menier Chocolate Factory ahead of its press night tomorrow. This marks the first major London revival of the play in 25 years.
Directed by Christopher Luscombe, Fallen Angels stars Olivier Award-winner Janie Dee as Julia Steroll and Alexandra Gilbreath as Jane Banbury. They are joined by Christopher Hollis (Bill Banbury), Richard Teverson (Fred Steroll), Sarah Twomey (Saunders), and Graham Vick (Maurice Duclos).
First performed 100 years ago, Coward’s sparkling comedy follows best friends Julia and Jane, whose seemingly happy marriages are thrown into chaos by the unexpected arrival of a glamorous former lover. Passions are rekindled with explosive results.
The creative team includes set designer Simon Higlett, costume designer Fotini Dimou, lighting designer Oliver Fenwick, sound designer Adam Cork, composer Nigel Hess, and movement by Nicola Keen.
Speaking about the revival, Christopher Luscombe said:
“It’s a joy to bring Coward’s razor-sharp wit back to the stage in this centenary year. The play feels as fresh and daring today as it did in 1925.”
Fallen Angels runs at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 21 February 2026, with press night on 2 December.
