First Look: The Homecoming at Young Vic Theatre in Rehearsal

The Homecoming Credit Ellie Kurttz

Rehearsal images are released today for the highly anticipated revival of Harold Pinter’s powerful masterpiece The Homecoming, thrillingly re-explored by Olivier-nominated director Matthew Dunster. It runs at the Young Vic Theatre from 27 November to 27 January 2024, with opening night for press on 5 December. Tickets are available at www.youngvic.org 

The production stars BAFTA Leading Actor award winner Jared Harris (Chernobyl, Mad Men, The Crown, Foundation) as Max, Joe Cole (Gangs of London, Peaky Blinders, The Ipcress File, Black Mirror) as Lenny, Lisa Diveney (Call the Midwife, The Seagull) as Ruth, Robert Emms (Chernobyl, The Reckoning) as Teddy, David Angland (The Pillowman, Doctor Faustus) as Joey, and Nicolas Tennant (The Ocean at the End of the Lane, The Duchess of Malfi) as Sam.

And Ruth.  

       

In a small house in East London lives a family of butchers and boxers. When academic son Teddy returns home from America, with a wife his family have never met, a strange power struggle between man, wife and in-laws ensues.  

The Homecoming is designed by Moi Tran, with lighting design by Sally Ferguson, sound design by George Dennis, casting by Heather Basten CDG, US casting consultation by David Caparelliotis, voice and dialect coaching by Hazel Holder, fight direction by Kev McCurdy, movement direction by Charlotte Broom, intimacy direction by Yarit Dor and Jerwood Assistant Director is Bellaray Bertrand-Webb.
