Chief Executive and Artistic Director Iwan Lewis, Executive Director Liam McMullan, and the whole team at the Barn Theatre announce the cast and creative team for their 2024 Christmas show The Three Musketeers: Trois, playing from Monday 25 November 2024 to Saturday 4 January 2025, with a press night on Wednesday 27 November.
The Three Musketeers: Trois is written by Alan Pollock, with composition and arrangement by Lee Freeman, lyrics by Mark Anderson, directed by Bryan Hodgson and design from TV personality and Cirencester’s own Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, as he joins the creative team to bring his unique creative vision to the show. The team are also delighted to release some initial costume designs today.
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen said, “Some may think I was profiled after a life of swaggering and buckling my swash, but I’m sure the best man for the job. The Three Musketeers has been in my psyche ever since I can remember. Maybe because I fancied Milady de Winter, or maybe it’s because of the gun she hid in her muff… The Barn has only 200 seats, which officially makes The Three Musketeers: Trois tickets more difficult to get hold of than Oasis tickets!”
Determined to avenge his beloved father and become a Musketeer, D’Artagnan heads to Paris where he meets the dashing Athos, Porthos and Aramis – but also femme fatale Milady, and beautiful Conny – who wastes no time in plunging him into an intrigue to preserve the honour of the Queen, avert a war with England and defeat his father’s arch enemy – evil Cardinal Richelieu…!!
The perfect swash-buckling Festive five-star musical adventure for all the family which brings D’Artagnan more than he could possibly have imagined, or even dared to dream…Join the Barn this Christmas for some rip-roaring thrills that will have you dancing and singing from here to the French countryside! If you liked Treasure Island, then you’re going to love this one!
