You’re bringing Lucie Jones: Live at the Palladium to the London Palladium. What can you tell us about the concert?
This show is being set up in a slightly different way than how I usually do solo shows. It feels so special to play the Palladium, and I’ve been thoughtful in including songs and stories that are personal and intimate to me.
I’ve dug deep with my musical director to ensure that our audience is feeling along with us throughout the set.
Also, I’m doing this one with my daughter in tow! It’s unreal that I get to take the stage with her. Amazing to make your Palladium debut at minus four months, I think!
This is your biggest solo concert to date. How does it feel to be stepping onto such an iconic stage at this moment in your career?
The Palladium has always held a very special place in my heart. I love going to see friends and idols perform there, and having had the opportunity to perform there over the last few years has been unreal.
To do it solo is just a bit ridiculous. I don’t know how to put it into words.
The roles I have played over the years have brought me to this point, so I’m stoked to give them some airtime on the most incredible stage in London theatre.
We’ve been told to expect musical theatre favourites, blistering covers and some unexpected moments. How did you approach putting together the set list and shaping the feel of the night?
This set list was inspired by my Glastonbury set list and expanded from there. Pop and rock are a huge part of my life and my heart, so I wanted to bring together my loves for this special night.
There’s talk of surprise appearances and unique collaborations. Without giving too much away, what excites you most about sharing those moments with the audience?
I won’t say too much, but what I will say is I’m doing something in this show with a friend or two that I have wanted to do for years.
I’m so excited to do it for this gig.
What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to see Lucie Jones: Live at the Palladium?
We’re going to have a great time. Don’t be a flake and see it on Instagram on Tuesday morning and think “awwww I missed it”.
Come along, pals!
You’ve had an extraordinary journey across theatre, TV and live performance. How has your artistic growth influenced what audiences will experience in this concert?
This set list, the choices of stories to be shared, and the guests are very indicative of where I am in life right now.
Things have changed big time for me over the last few years, and things are really good. I can’t wait to share it all.
