Four more exciting visiting shows have been added to the autumn 2024 programme at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre.
They are:
Romeo and Juliet (23 & 24 September): ‘Two households, both alike in dignity. In broken Belfast, where we lay our scene…’ OVO’s brand new adaptation of the classic story is set on the streets of Belfast in 1998 – the year the Good Friday agreement was signed.
Pete Firman: Trik Tok (26 October): With over 250 million online views and countless TV appearances under his belt, including Tonight at the London Palladium, The Next Great Magician, The Magicians, The John Bishop Show and The Sarah Millican Television Programme, Pete is firmly established as the UK’s top comedy magician.
The Hidden Garden (1 November): Amongst the concrete high-rises and redbrick buildings is something unexpected: a place bursting with colour, where flowers, fruits and vegetables come to life, growing up walls, twisting around handrails and in unusual objects. A curious child discovers this hidden garden and meets the man who’s created his own little paradise to brighten up the grey and feed those for whom hunger is never far away. For ages 5+ and their grown-ups.
Learning to Fly (14 November): Acclaimed writer, storyteller and performer James Rowland tells the story of a remarkable friendship he made as a lonely, unhappy teenager with the scary old lady who lived in the spooky house on his street. It’s about connection, no matter what the obstacles; about love’s eternal struggle with time; about music and its ability to heal. Uplifting, big-hearted and hilarious.
