Some of the West End’s most celebrated performers will unite for a one-night-only performance of Myths & Hymns at London’s Union Chapel on Friday 18 July 2025 at 7.30pm.

Set against the backdrop of the venue’s iconic stained-glass windows, this powerful and moving song cycle by Adam Guettel promises an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling.

Myths & Hymns explores themes of faith, yearning, and the human desire for connection. Drawing inspiration from Greek mythology and religious traditions across the ages, the piece journeys through a rich musical landscape—from romantic ballads to rock, gospel, and R&B.

The cast includes Luke Bayer, Kelly Mathieson, Christian Maynard, Sharon Rose, Obioma Ugoala, and Emma Williams*, under the direction of Annabel Mutale Reed with musical direction by Leo Munby. *Cast may be subject to change.

“This will be a majestic night of music,” say the producers.

The production is presented by Lambert Jackson, known for bringing high-quality musical theatre experiences to UK audiences.

Adam Guettel, the multi-award-winning composer and lyricist behind Myths & Hymns, is also celebrated for Floyd Collins, The Light in the Piazza, and Days of Wine and Roses. His work continues to earn critical acclaim, with Floyd Collins recently receiving six Tony Award nominations for its Broadway debut.

Myths & Hymns originally premiered off-Broadway at the Public Theater in 1998 under the title Saturn Returns, and had its London premiere at the Finborough Theatre in 2007.
