The National Centre for Circus Arts will host a spectacular Summer Fundraiser on Tuesday 24 June at 7:30pm in its iconic London courtyard.
The event will feature exclusive live performances created by students from the Centre’s youth and degree programmes, celebrating the next generation of circus artists.
Funds raised will directly support the Centre’s mission to remain one of Europe’s leading circus arts training institutions, especially in light of ongoing cuts to public arts and education funding.
This year’s fundraiser comes at a critical time for the sector, following the loss of core support from Arts Council England and the recent announcement that the current NPO funding term will be extended until 2028.
Every ticket sold will help the Centre continue its work in training performers, improving access for underrepresented communities, and supporting professional circus artists across the UK.
The evening opens with a specially commissioned piece by students from the Centre for Advanced Training, a government-funded programme for young people.
This is followed by an ensemble performance from first-year BA students, directed by Daisy Minto, founder and Artistic Director of acclaimed theatre-circus company Hours.
The night concludes with an exclusive preview of devised work from final-year BA students, offering a glimpse into the creativity and dedication of the graduating class of 2025.
Dan Cowdrill, CEO of the National Centre for Circus Arts, said:
“The last few years have been particularly challenging when it comes to maintaining reliable sources of funding, just as it has been for many in the performing arts sector. We are so excited, however, to demonstrate why that financial support is so vital by showcasing not only the work of our incredible students but also just how important circus is as part of the rich and varied cultural arts scene in the UK. I very much look forward to welcoming our supporters to our iconic home in Hoxton on the 24th June.”
Tickets are priced at £65 (Supporter) and £95 (Champion), with all proceeds going directly to support the Centre’s work.
