New Diorama Theatre have had to cancel Incoming Festival this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but are delighted to be able to present work_from_home as an entirely free, online theatrical experience.
Before Coronavirus, we were working all the time. We were worried about the gig economy and burnout, and now everything’s stopped. Now everyone is working on their sourdough starters, trying to be productive, feeling scared, trying to get going again.
work_from_home is an interactive play performed entirely by participants on a Zoom call, about when things stop working. It is an entirely new, digital, interactive adaptation of Nathan Ellis’ play work.txt, which was nominated for an Innovation Award at VAULT Festival 2020 and would have formed part of Incoming Festival 2020.
You will log on, you will do nothing, you will contribute, you will be essential.
work_from_home takes place on a Zoom call, and is performed entirely by the participants on the Zoom call. You will receive a link to the Zoom on the morning of your chosen date.
You will need:
- Zoom downloaded onto your computer
- To be wearing headphones
- A steady internet connection
- Video and Microphone enabled
- To be in a quiet room
