Award-winning theatre company On the Run releases their smash-hit debut show So It Goes online for 30 days. A frank, funny, and endlessly inventive show about bereavement that received rave reviews (including 5*s Times) and was selected for British Council Showcase in 2015. Reinforcing how grief can leave you speechless, this deeply personal show is performed with no speaking whatsoever – just words communicated to the audience on whiteboards, a playful and often poignant device.
Coping with grief hasn’t always been easy for Hannah. In fact in the seven years since her dad died, she’s hardly spoken about it. Not one to be defeated, she’s enlisted her friend David to help her on a journey through memory, laughter and sorrow, to finally come to terms with losing her dad.
Performed by Lecoq-trained duo Hannah Moss (as herself) and David Ralfe (as everyone else), So It Goes explores the way grief affects everyday life. Episodes relive Hannah’s memories of her father whilst showing how the loss affected her relationship with her mother, and how she tries to cope with grief.
In light of the current COVID19 lockdown, On The Run wanted to share some of their work in order to keep audiences entertained and engaged in the arts. It is also to raise money for Marie Curie Hospice Hampstead where Hannah’s dad Mike spent his final days (50% of all proceeds will be donated).
On The Run is an award-winning London-based theatre company led by Hannah Moss. They devise and create work that challenges preconceived ideas in society. They have toured nationally and internationally and previously been part of the British Council Edinburgh Showcase. Most recently On The Run debuted their third piece, Everything I Didn’t Say (previously titled The Rebirth of Meadow Rain) at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019 (Pleasance Theatre).
So It Goes is Available from 29th April 19:30 BST until 12th June 23:59 BST here.
