Following a second tour across Australia and New Zealand, the hugely acclaimed Every Brilliant Thing by Duncan Macmillan will return to Europe in May 2017. The European tour of Every Brilliant Thing will begin on 2 May at Quarry Theatre in Bedford before visiting over twenty-five venues across England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and France.

Every Brilliant Thing is a global phenomenon. It has now been seen by over 42,000 people across the world and performed over 350 times across 3 continents and 9 countries. The production will celebrate another milestone on 17 May 2017 when, for the first time ever, it is performed simultaneously in Sheffield and Paris.

A play about depression and the ones we love, Every Brilliant Thing was developed by Duncan Macmillan (People Places and Things, 1984) with Paines Plough over a decade ago. Through the intervening years Every Brilliant Thing has had a number a guises including an exhibition, a Facebook group and an installation, before becoming a theatre production in June 2013. After performing to 7,500 people in the 2014/15 Off Broadway season, HBO broadcasted Every Brilliant Thing to huge acclaim across North America on 26 December 2016.

Every Brilliant Thing is part of Paines Plough’s Programme 2017 which will see the company present some of the most exciting playwrights on tour to more than 60 places across the UK and around the world.
