Polka Theatre has revealed the cast and creative team for Who Let The Gods Out, a brand-new stage musical based on Maz Evans’ bestselling children’s book series. The production runs in Polka’s Y C Chan Theatre from Saturday 7 February to Sunday 22 March 2026, with a press performance on Friday 13 February at 6pm.

The musical features book and lyrics by Maz Evans and music by Luke Bateman. Directed by Ria Parry, the show promises an epic adventure full of action, laughter, and heart.

Maz Evans said:
“I am EPICALLY excited to be letting my Gods out with the legendary Polka Theatre! I hope my GodsSquad will join Elliot and Virgo on this new musical odyssey, full of action, adventure, laughter, tears and some heavenly tunes by Luke Bateman. This show has been a joy to create and I cannot wait to share it with you all – and I’ll be there on selected dates to meet all you little legends in person!”

The cast includes Andy Owens as Elliot, Nadia Wyn Abouayen as Virgo, Harriet O’Grady as Patricia Porshley Plum/Josie/The Queen, Jazz Evans as Zeus/Thanatos, and Stephan Boyce as Hermes.

Helen Matravers, Polka’s Artistic Director, said:
“Premiering Who Let The Gods Out at Polka is such an honour and joy. The book is SO loved by children across the country, and Maz and Luke have created something truly magical by turning this heartfelt, hilarious adventure-book into a musical. The story takes magical twists and turns but keeps at its core the strength of family and love. It will wow audiences and get them out of their seats dancing along and laughing. The cast are incredible and under Ria Parry’s direction the show will shine so brightly. We can’t wait to stage it – it’s going to be epic!”
