In Lamplighters, a one-man interactive spy story, that’s part game, part interactive theatre, part improv comedy, Neil Connolly plays a Spymaster and the audience his spy network. From creatives behind hit immersive experiences such as HEIST and The Crystal Maze Experience, Rogue Productions’ latest creation takes immersive theatre onto the stage at the Old Red Lion following a sell out run at London’s VAULT Festival 2018, where it ran for a week and won the festival’s People’s Choice Award.
Neil Connolly, your Spymaster, has lost an agent in the field. There’s a mystery to solve, villains to thwart and secrets to be stolen. But he can’t do it alone. He needs his spy network. That’s where you come in. For those who leap from their seat at the chance to be a spy, this mission is for you. For those who want to watch their espionage escapades from a safe distance, they got you covered too.
Lamplighters is a (silly) but loving parody of John le Carre’s Cold War masterpieces. Cigarettes, whiskey, gentlemen’s clubs. Also, a Dubliner desperately trying to sound convincingly like an Oxbridge graduate for 60 minutes. A trip behind the Iron Curtain has never been so fun.
Dean Rodgers said, “Neil Connolly is one of the most accomplished immersive theatre actors in London, if not the world. He’s a master of interactive performance. And this show is all about putting those skills on display, allowing him to create a world, characters and laughter without the usual big sets of immersive theatre. Just him and an audience.”
Rogue Productions are experts in experiential entertainment, founded by Dean Rodgers – co-creator and co-director the hit immersive experience HEIST and the creative director of The Crystal Maze Live Experience in London and Manchester. They are all about letting audiences play; creating immersive theatre, escape games, and experiential events. Rogue have created award winning immersive entertainment independently, but we’ve also tailored games and experiences for brands such as Capcom, Merlin Entertainments, The Eden Project, and Warner Bros.
