Spiral down the stairs to the world of the Inventor. Consumed by grief, he undertakes work on his biggest creation yet, his lost wife… but at what cost?
Following on from a hugely successful 2016, Certain Dark Things are embarking on an international tour with their 5 star show ‘Melancholy’. This production combines physical theatre, puppetry and animation to delve into the world of one man as he treads the fine line between genius and insanity.
Melancholy has been created by Stephen McCabe, Sarah Morgan and Laura Romer-Ormiston, with animation by Emily Knight. The international tour of ‘Melancholy’ is partnered with mental health charity CALM. CALM works to prevent male suicide by providing frontline services for men, promoting culture change and campaigning for better understanding of suicide and prevention.
‘Melancholy’ aims to explore this subject in a creative and cathartic way in hopes of opening the conversation and reducing stigma surrounding male mental illness. Certain Dark Things are one of the New Diorama’s Graduate Emerging Companies for 2016-2017.
