River In The Sky at The Lion & Unicorn Theatre

“We are all just an assortment of stories.
Lies and truths all muddled by our own narrative.
What are we if nothing but the words we tell ourselves?
But then again, maybe they are the only things keeping us going.”

After a sudden loss, a couple struggle to cope with reality.

While one hides away in a dilapidated caravan, escaping on wonderous adventures through their imagination, the other tries to forget the painful event and move on with their day to day life.

Unable to heal separately, the couple come together to drink tea, argue over biscuits and tell each other magnificent stories, as bittersweet escapism from their mourning.

But as the stories consume them, reality drifts further from reach…  Will they spiral further into grief or can these stories bring them back?
