Alfie James Productions presents Women in War at Camden People’s Theatre.
Seen through the eyes of Lottie, a nurse close to the frontline during WW1, Women in War captures some of the real-life women whom served as nurses and ambulance drivers over the course of one eventful night.
Following on from the past two successful productions of “The Tank” and “Home for a Lost Soldier,” this is a new community project exploring what life was like during the First World War through performance techniques and inspiring people to learn about the past.
After a series of workshops, research and visits, we then worked as a team to devise this one-act play to bring to life and to pay respect to the many women (and men) who worked in the hospitals caring for the injured soldiers in a heart-warming story. Supported in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund and The Gateways to the First World War.
Women in War is at Camden People’s Theatre on 23rd September 2019.
