STAMP (Supporting Theatre Artists and Makers of Performance) is bringing back its successful annual event for new, early, and mid-career artists as a three day online programme called STAMP Connects Online.
The event will feature three days of talks, panel discussions, and a ‘marketplace’ where ticket holders will be able to book in one-on-one meet ups with more than 20 London-based arts organisations and venues including the Young Vic, Camden People’s Theatre, Pleasance, and VAULT Festival.
STAMP Connects Online will provide artists with the opportunity to participate in professional development discussions, and gain an understanding of how arts organisations and venues support artists.
Funding sessions will take place with representatives of Arts Council England, and there will be a ‘Fundraising for Independent Artists Beyond the Arts Council’ session with Lilli Geissendorfer of Jerwood Arts, Andrew Broadley of MGCFutures, and Sarah Shead of independent producers Spin Arts.
Artists will can also attend sessions on ‘Embedded Audience Development vs Marketing Your Show’ with Emma Blackman, a Fringe-First award-winning producer, and Daisy Hale, an independent producer and fundraiser who specialises in socially engaged work with queer, trans, and disabled artists; as well as ‘How Will Digital Tools Shape Theatre’s Future’ with Kevin Jamieson, Head of Programming for HOME Manchester, Javaad Alipoor, artist, activist and writer, Paula Varjack, theatre-maker and video-artist, and Tom Mansfield, Artistic Director of Upstart Theatre; and ‘Arts with communities: What’s happening, what has changed, and what’s still to do?’ with theatre making duo She Goat (DoppleDanger & The Undefinable), Kane Husbands from the Pappy Show and Suzanne Gorman from Maya Productions. Chaired by Jo Chard – Creative Partnership and Programme Manager at Guildhall School of Music and Dance.
Alongside these themed discussions both STAMP organisations and those from further afield will also share their insights on the approach they’re currently taking to support and programme artists. The ‘Where We’re At’ sessions aim to open up a dialogue between artists and organisations about how the coming months may pan out, featuring speakers from over 12 organisations including Artsadmin, Brixton House, Fuel, Kiln Theatre, Soho Theatre, Theatre Peckham, Warwick Arts Centre and Young Vic.
Following the huge success of last year’s in-person Marketplace meet and greet with London-based arts organisations and venues, STAMP has worked with its member organisations to provide artists with the opportunity to book one-on-one ten minute slots to have a chat, and ask their questions in a supportive online environment. More than 20 STAMP organisations are taking part in the Online Marketplace, which takes place from 2pm to 6pm every day of the event.
To make the events as accessible as possible, all tickets will be Pay What You Can, and all events will be captioned by Otter.ai. BSL interpretation is supplied upon arrangement.
Further panelists are being announced every day, and a full programme of the sessions is available on the Camden People’s Theatre website at: https://www.cptheatre.co.uk/production/stamp-connects-online/
