The cast for the awe-inspiring Revel Puck Circus has been announced, as the troupe return with an all-new show, THE RUCKUS: Everyone’s Invited!
In partnership with Waltham Forest Council, the acclaimed East London circus company are back in Waltham Forest with an extraordinary all female cast! Expect an iconic Drag King, amazing acrobatics and superb aerialists, as they platform these legendary women to retell and relive the myths of London.
Showcasing an all-round performer, the Revel Pucks are thrilled to present circus artist, physical performer and Drag King Ruby Gaskell. After winning Europe’s largest Drag King Competition Man Up! in 2021, Gaskell is set to delight audiences in Contortion, Drag and Trapeze. Joining them at the top of the tent and making her debut in England will be aerialist Zoe Schubert, silver medallist for Great Britain in 2018’s World Championships in Antwerp. The Revel Pucks also present another extraordinary international competitor Strong Woman, Helga Ehrenbusch, who previously competed with Estonia’s national team of Acrobatic Gymnastics.
Competitive gymnast and assistant director Arielle Lauzon (Machine de Cirque; Cirque Eloize; Theatre A Tempo; Midsummer’s Night Dream, Flip Fabrique) will showcase her signature combination of dynamic floor acrobatics and natural clowning, alongside acrobat Lola Latham joining the stage. Rounding off the talented cast is master of the Cyr Wheel and Queens of the hula hoop, Laura Hogg, and Tara Talland (Upswing; Troupe Vertigo; The Box, Soho; Bunga Bunga, Covent Garden), who will defy gravity with Hair Hanging and Aerial Hoop.
Through platforming a diverse roster of female circus creatives, THE RUCKUS aims to uproot the traditional narrative that can often be placed on circus performers. The Revel Puck’s strive to represent the unrepresented and aim to make circus accessible for all, presenting audiences with experiences that reflect and represent London communities. Having recently been nominated for a Pride of Waltham Forest Award, and previously partnered with Waltham Forest during the London Borough of Culture 2019, the company aim to curate performances that allow audiences to see themselves in the performers.
