The Stage has announced the release of early bird tickets for its Future of Theatre conference. A limited number of three-day passes are now available to purchase online on The Stage website for just £49, a saving of 38%.
The Stage has also launched a subsidised ticket scheme for theatre freelancers, which opens on Friday, April 23, providing an allocation of 250 three-day passes for freelancers to attend the conference for free. The scheme is supported by Arts Council England and is an opportunity for freelance workers specifically to be able to make the most of the conference programming.
To access these tickets, theatre freelancers will need to contact [email protected]Â for more details. The scheme will also be shared across key groups representing freelancers in theatre and the performing arts. Passes will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and will only be available to freelancers working within theatre and the performing arts.
Future of Theatre is a three-day digital conference, produced by The Stage, which will explore what lies ahead for the sector and start a conversation that challenges, educates and shares ideas between theatremakers from across the theatre industry. The conference will take place online from Wednesday, June 16 to Friday, June 18, 10am to 6pm daily.
Alistair Smith, editor of The Stage, said: “It’s been a tough year for everyone in theatre and we wanted to use the Future of Theatre Conference as a way of bringing people from across the entire industry together to assist in its recovery and discuss where we go from here.
“An important part of that has been making tickets to the event as affordable as possible, while also covering the costs of producing the conference and paying freelancers who are taking part.
“We are delighted that support from Arts Council England has allowed us to offer 250 free tickets to freelancers to ensure that this important part of our sector is able to be fully represented in the discussion.”
The Future of Theatre conference will be the first of its kind to bring together voices from across the whole UK theatre sector as the performing arts prepares to return post-pandemic. The digital conference, which is tailored towards all industry professionals working within the sector, will cover five core topics: Community and Audience, Shows and Artistic Practice, Money and Finance, The Built Environment and The Workforce.
Over the three days, ticket holders will hear from a diverse range of theatre experts including well-known names but also those who wouldn’t normally be in the spotlight. The conversations will address onstage and offstage topics across commercial, subsidised and not-for-profit theatre.
Each day, attendees will be engaged, challenged and inspired by a varied programme featuring an exclusive interview with a keynote speaker, as well as a variety of thought-provoking panel discussions with industry figures and insightful data-led presentations, all presented on the digital main stage.
There will also be opportunities for attendees to engage in conversation and gain access to key industry leaders, innovators and suppliers.
Headline speakers will be announced soon.
