Coronet Theatre interior by David Jensen

This summer The Coronet draws together a rich cultural combination of poetry, performance, puppetry, film, dance, theatre, contemporary and classical music, drawing talent and influence from across the globe.

“I am privileged to share the diverse ways in which artists from around the world express our shared challenges, beyond our cultural differences. In this Summer season, we draw together experiences from international artists who explore issues that touch us all – tackling narratives of mental health, disability, abuse, self-harm and the ongoing difficulties women face. The Coronet will platform actors, filmmakers, poets, puppeteers, musicians and dancers, and through the most extraordinary performances help us navigate towards a better understanding of the world we live in today.” Anda Winters. Artistic Director, The Coronet Theatre

Sulla Morte Senza Esagerare (On Death Without Exaggeration) – from one of Italy’s foremost mask-theatre companies, is a touching performance rooted in traditions of physical theatre, commedia dell’arte and silent-mask theatre which combine in a moving and unconventional exploration of death.

Grey Man – a pioneering digital performance directed by Robyn Winfield-Smith and written by Lulu Raczka, writer of Women, Beware The Devil. Two parallel versions of the same character each tell their story, in a chilling exploration of mental illness and the power of storytelling to haunt us or heal us…

Lovefool – a brutally honest, hilarious and heartbreaking one-woman show navigating the impossibly confusing gender dynamics of modern love. Having sold out at the National Theatre of Luxembourg, this extraordinary piece of new writing receives its UK Premiere on The Coronet Theatre’s main stage.
