The Tower Theatre Company presents: Bouncers and Shakers

Perennial favourites Bouncers and Shakers will be bursting onto our stage this March! Both plays are fast and furious, full of life and laughs, and performed against a soundtrack of classic 80s pop. A roller coaster of a theatrical ride to beat those Covid blues…

Bouncers by John Godber:

By turns rude, rowdy and rambunctious, Lucky Eric and his crew of Bouncers take us on a trip to the wild side of town, welcoming us to Mr Cinders disco (the hottest spot in any town) and whisking us through the highs and lows of the many and varied clientele – the punks, the jocks, and the girls on the town… Buckle up, hold on to your hats, and have yourselves a night to remember!

Shakers by John Godber and Jane Thornton:

The cocktail waitresses of Shakers have their own stories to tell, as well as those of their favourite customers – the checkout girls and the boys in their best, with Impulse and Aramis vying for attention – wondering who will pluck up the courage to order a Long Slow Comfortable Screw. So grab your Pina Coladas and shimmy down to the Shakers Bar, for cocktails and dreams and everything in between. Ting!

John Godber’s The Highwayman comes to Shakespeare North Playhouse and Theatre Royal Wakefield

Director Ruth Sullivan is no stranger to challenge, with productions of King Charles III, Macbeth (played both in a church and in a Paris garden theatre) and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead under her belt, as well as numerous productions as movement director. For these plays she is relishing working with her actors, all of whom are on stage in every scene, and painting a dynamic action-packed picture with carefully crafted choreography.

Bouncers and Shakers runs 15th – 22nd March 2022, both plays playing alternate nights with Double Bills on Saturdays.  More information can be found here.
