The critically acclaimed musical parody Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula the Sea Witch is making a triumphant return to The Lowry, Salford, for a five-week Christmas season.

Following two previous sell-out runs at the venue, this brand-new production opens on Friday 5 December 2025 and runs until Sunday 11 January 2026.

Tickets go on general sale from 10am on Friday 13 June.

When Disney released The Little Mermaid in 1989, they had no idea they were creating a cultural icon. Ursula the Sea Witch quickly became a fan favourite—bold, brilliant, and unapologetically herself.

“She’s loud. She’s clever. She’s sexy and unapologetically plus-sized. She’s not defined by slipper-sized feet, or enchanted blonde hair, or snow-white skin. Ursula is plump, purple and proud,” the production team explains.

This laugh-a-minute dive into Ursula’s backstory is packed with a filthy pop soundtrack, beloved characters reimagined, and enough eco-friendly glitter to dazzle audiences all the way home.

Unfortunate first premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 and has since enjoyed multiple sell-out runs across the UK, including London’s Southwark Playhouse and a six-month UK tour in 2024.

The show features book and lyrics by Robyn Grant and Daniel Foxx, with music by award-winning composer Tim Gilvin. Casting and full creative team will be announced soon.

Produced by Wildpark Entertainment, the show promises a festive season full of sass, sorcery, and sea witch scandal.
