Twelve projects have been shortlisted for the 2025 Untapped Award – supporting small to mid-scale devised and collaborative theatre makers taking new work to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer.

Over 200 applications were sent in for consideration, a record-breaking number for the New Diorama, Underbelly and Concord Theatricals run award.

The shortlist is:

Burger Chef by 60 Miles

I’NA SUIT YOU by Blemme Fatale Productions

Catherine by Boal & Company

Easy Ryan: Pigs Fly by Easy Ryan

Ways of Knowing by Emergency Chorus

Transit by Halfpace Theatre

Hurts So Good by Milk No Sugar Theatre Company

a nightmare is witchwork by Small Hours

ITCH, SCRATCH, RELIEF by Static Limit

Jeezus! by Theatre Alpaca

DOGGY by why this sky

Up to three companies will each receive £10,000, a slot at Underbelly at the Fringe on a preferential 65/35 box office split plus no upfront venue fees or deposit, show imagery and specialist marketing support, individual show press campaign led by Multitude Media, publishing and licensing deal with Concord Theatricals, support & funding to present accessible performances, for example captioned and relaxed performances, preview shows at New Diorama Theatre in London, plus mentoring and well-being support throughout the process, tailored to the needs of the winning theatre makers.

The shortlisted shows will take part in a series of showcase days this month to decide the winners, who will be announced as part of the Underbelly Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme later this year.
