Andrew Lloyd Webbers th Birthday Concert

The next release on The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel has been announced as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 50th Birthday concert, recorded at The Royal Albert Hall in 1998.

Originally staged at the Royal Albert Hall on 7th April 1998 was broadcast by ITV and later released on DVD.  The one night only concert saw stars of stage and screen celebrate the works of the music impresario.

The line up includes Sarah Brightman, Michael Ball, Glenn Close, Antonio Banderas, Elaine Paige and Kiri Te Kanawa.

       

Songs performed on the evening come from shows such as Evita, Sunset Boulevard, Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and Whistle Down The Wind.

In response to the shutdown of theatres, The Shows Must Go On YouTube Channel, launched on 3rd April to make available a selection of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much loved musicals, starting with one of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
