Award-winning solo show Pink Rabbit will make its official London debut at Soho Theatre this November, following a critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Written and performed by Farah Ashraf, the play won a Bestie Award and the Shedload-of-Future Fund 2026. The production explores themes of female desire, faith, shame and personal freedom through the story of eighteen-year-old British Pakistani woman Amna.

Amna has perfected the art of performance. At home, she is a polite, modest and obedient daughter. Online, she becomes PersianBaby, cultivating intimacy and desire through an OnlyFans account her mother knows nothing about.

When a man contacts her on social media offering to pay for webcam calls, Amna finds herself navigating the tension between desire, financial independence and the expectations of her conservative upbringing.

Blending lyrical spoken word with direct audience engagement, Pink Rabbit examines the search for pleasure, the pressures of cultural expectations and the lasting impact of intergenerational trauma. The production asks what space exists for desire in the lives of women, particularly within South Asian communities.

The creative team includes director and dramaturg Alessandro Babalola, producer Daljinder Johal and associate director Aoife Smyth.

Speaking about the production, Farah Ashraf said: “I first wrote Pink Rabbit as a five-minute scratch piece at drama school, out of frustration with how I felt South Asian & Muslim women were boxed in onstage. Since then, it’s grown with me, from Edinburgh Fringe to Soho Theatre, pushing me to become a braver, bolder and more rigorous artist. I love creating work that’s messy, complex, funny and unapologetic. At its heart, the play is about the masks we wear to feel loved, desired and accepted, and that very human need to feel seen. It’s about sex, but it’s not sexy.”

The production has already earned strong praise from critics. The Scotsman described Ashraf as a “Powerhouse performer” and called the show a “five-star coming-of-age tragi-comedy”, while Broadway World praised its “poignant social critique” and The Stage highlighted its “deeply poetic reflection on the contradiction between faith and sexual freedom”.

Pink Rabbit runs at Soho Theatre (Upstairs) from Tuesday 24 November to Saturday 12 December 2026.
