The Barn Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for its festive production of Honk!, the Olivier Award-winning musical by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Directed by Ryan McBryde, the family favourite will run in Cirencester from 21 November 2026 until 3 January 2027, with a press performance on 25 November.

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved tale The Ugly Duckling, Honk! follows Ugly, a duckling teased for being different, who finds himself lost and in danger on an extraordinary journey of self-discovery. Along the way he encounters unexpected friendships, mistaken identities and plenty of adventure as he searches for where he truly belongs.

Since winning the Olivier Award for Best Musical, Honk! has become a global success, enjoying more than 8,000 productions worldwide. Featuring a witty book and memorable score, the musical celebrates individuality, acceptance and the importance of looking beyond appearances.

Leading the cast is Claire-Marie Hall, whose previous credits include Operation Mincemeat and Les Misérables. The role of Ugly will be played by Timi Akinyosade, recently seen in Paddington The Musical and Man Like Mobeen.

Joining them are Molly Cheesley, Maz McGinlay, Nikki Biddington, Silas Wyatt-Barke, Daniel Robinson and Joseph Claus. Musicians Rachael Proud and Ted Hayes complete the company.

The production will also feature a young company of four local performers, with auditions set to take place later this month. The Barn Theatre is seeking talented young singers, actors and dancers from the local area to appear as Ducklings and Froglets in the production.

The creative team includes choreographer Joanna Goodwin, musical director Ben Ward, musical supervisor and orchestrator Lee Freeman, and casting director Harry Blumenau CDG. Production management is led by Dan Weager, with Niamh Percy serving as company stage manager.

With its uplifting message, catchy songs and memorable characters, Honk! promises a heartwarming theatrical treat for audiences of all ages this festive season.
