The Barn Theatre has announced that its critically acclaimed production of Million Dollar Quartet will transfer to London this autumn for a strictly limited season at The Arts at Marble Arch: powered by TodayTix.
Presented by Built By Barn and Steve Spiegel for TRW Production, the musical will run from 4 September to 6 December 2026, with a press night scheduled for 15 September at 7pm.
Inspired by the legendary recording session that took place on 4 December 1956, Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of the extraordinary night when Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley came together at Sun Records in Memphis.
The musical recreates the spontaneous gathering that helped define the future of rock ‘n’ roll, featuring classic hits including “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Fever”, “Walk The Line” and “Hound Dog”.
Stage and screen favourite Darren Day will reprise his role as Sam Phillips, the pioneering producer who helped shape the sound of a generation. Further casting for the London season will be announced in due course.
The production is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, with choreography by Joanna Goodwin. The creative team also includes Libby Watson as set and costume designer, Alex Musgrave as lighting designer, Nick Lodge as sound designer and Lee Freeman as musical supervisor.
The transfer follows an extended summer season at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester and continues the venue’s Built By Barn initiative, which has previously seen productions transfer beyond the Cotswolds, including I’m Sorry Prime Minister, I Can’t Quite Remember and the forthcoming tour of The King’s Speech.
Recent reviews for the production have praised its energy and musicianship, with The Stage describing it as “Under O’Boyle’s assured direction, we get the real people, rather than the legends that they became”, while the Daily Mail called it “The high voltage encore to Jonathan O’Boyle’s production gets the audience to their feet.”

First seen on Broadway in 2010, Million Dollar Quartet received three Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, and won Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Levi Kreis. The show made its West End premiere at the Noël Coward Theatre in 2011 and has since enjoyed numerous productions around the world.
